Shut the Door to Fear: Courageous Obedience
(Devotional on Judges 3:21-23)
Be inspired by Ehud's brave actions in Judges 3 to shut the door on fear and boldly follow God's leading.
Scripture:
Judges 3:21-23 (NIV) - "Ehud reached with his left hand, drew the sword from his right thigh and plunged it into the king’s belly. Even the handle sank in after the blade, and his bowels discharged. Ehud did not pull the sword out, and the fat closed in over it. Then Ehud went out to the porch; he shut the doors of the upper room behind him and locked them."
Here, Ehud courageously carries out God's plan to defeat an oppressive ruler. After his mission, Ehud shuts the door, symbolizing his determination to protect the victory God gave him.
Revelatory Example: Imagine stepping out in faith like Ehud to tackle a challenge, relying on God to overcome doubt and fear. In courageous obedience, we experience the fulfillment of God's promises.
Christian Principle: Obedience requires shutting the door on hesitation and fully trusting God's lead. With unwavering faith in Him, we are equipped to triumph over obstacles.
Prayer:
Lord, grant courage to shut the door on fear and follow You wholeheartedly. Like Ehud, help us trust Your plans are greater than any challenge we face. Empower our obedience that we may walk in bold faith. In Jesus' name, amen.
