(Devotional on Genesis 18:5-7)

Be inspired by Abraham's hospitality in Genesis 18 to open your heart and home to bless others in need.


Scripture:

Genesis 18:5-7 (NIV) - "Let me get you something to eat, so you can be refreshed and then go on your way—now that you have come to your servant.' 'Very well,' they answered, 'do as you say.' So Abraham hurried into the tent to Sarah. 'Quick,' he said, 'get three seahs of the finest flour and knead it and bake some bread.'"


In this passage, we see Abraham's eagerness to show hospitality to strangers by offering them food and refreshments. His selflessness models the Christian call to open our lives to needy people.


Imagine a family embracing hospitality by welcoming a struggling neighbor for a meal. In their simple act of kindness, the neighbor finds comfort and encouragement.


Christian Principle: True hospitality goes beyond food and shelter - creating a space of warmth, love, and acceptance. When we open our doors, we echo Jesus' call to love our neighbors.


Prayer:

Lord, make us like Abraham, welcoming others with open arms. May our homes be places of rest and healing that reflect your compassionate heart. Show us opportunities to bless people through hospitality. In Jesus' name, amen.
